I Can't Listen To Beyonce' Single Ladies

A couple months ago me and a friend were talking about random stuff. I can't remember the topic of discussion, but he said something that really struck a cord. He was talking about Beyonce' song "Single Ladies" and how it's not a anthem for single women. He said that Beyonce's was singing a song about being a single lady, but still had  Jay-Z to go home to.

I pause at what he said, but when I really thought about it, it's true. Beyonce' dated Jay-Z since she was 19 years old, I'm sure they may have broken up a couple of times, but other than that she never was really single. I like Beyonce' music, and the "Single Ladies" song was great, but I wouldn't called it a single woman's anthem. Beyonce' is like the one friend who has a boyfriend, but still tries to give her single girlfriend advice about relationship. I don't know about the other single girls out there, but I sometimes can't take advice from girls who are happy in a relationship, especially if they never fully been single.

Maybe one day I will be like Beyonce' and be "Crazy in Love,""Dangerously in Love," and "Drunk in Love," but as of now I can only imagine what's that's like. Despite the fact that my friend had to point out the obvious about Beyonce song, lets pretend that Beyonce was a single girl.

It's Bittersweet

It's the end of the semester. As much as I want to shout for joy that the school year is coming to a close part of me will miss certain moments in the semester.  I wish I had something to look forward over the summer break, but like always the summer break is one big snooze fest. Below is a list of things I will and will not miss about the semester ending.

Week of Randomness

This week I want to be random. Last week was pretty hectic and this week I know I can goof off a bit. One thing that I am so happy about is delivering my last speech for speech class. The speech was a persuasive speech and my topic was to persuade the audience to learn a second language.  I started the speech off speaking in Korean which I totally mess up.

However I manage to pick to well on the rest of the speech. I made a B on the speech. That was the only major obstacle I faced this week.  Some of you are thinking that wasn't much of a hard obstacle, but to me to almost be done with speech is a huge weight off my shoulders.

In the above video, I continue to talk about randomness. I share with you my new collection which is nail polish. I also talk about an old Disney show. I know this may surprise some of you, but I don't everything Disney does.

The video is as random as this post I'm typing and as random as my life. Have a great week everyone!

My Favorite Items

Above is a video of my favorite items that I use on a daily basis. Each day, I use these items. I feel as though my day is not complete until I use the items.

Perfume: I think, once you've found the right perfume scent, it gives a little boast to your confidence.  I like scents that are fruity and I especially like cotton candy scents. I remember wanted this perfume last year, and I felt great once I finally got it.

Face Cleanser: I think this item is optional to some. I know many women who do not wash their face in the morning. In fact, I used to only wash my face with dove soap, until a friend's mother, who works with Avon, told me soap dries your skin. After that advice, I never wash my face with soap again.

Moisturizer:  This item, i recently started using on a daily basis. I only start because my mom told me the importance of using moisturizer on a daily basis. I use to think that moisturizer were for older women, but now I see many women in their early twenties using it.

Tell Me. What are some of your favorite items that you use on a daily basis?

I'm Not A Disney Fan

Why am I not a Disney fan? Don't get confused, I watch Toy Story, Mulan, A Bug's Life, and The Lion King, and I love those movies. However, I'm not a fan of the current Disney movies. Heck, I still haven't watch some of the older ones like The Incredibles, Monsters Inc, and Finding Nemo.

Everything Happens For A Reason

After Spring Break time has really been the one thing I'm trying to cherish. The weeks are coming to a close and I really want to enjoy them. I'm trying to break away from all the bad energy. I really wish that I can make these last few weeks last forever. Every time the semester comes to an end, I always wonder what will become of my summer break.

Taking Rap Lessons From Lil Wayne

Earlier this month a South Floria eight grade teacher was suspended for assigning students to read Lil Wayne's rap lyrics for homework. Many were shock by the teacher suspensions. The teacher printed out lyrics to Lil Wayne's "Six Foot Seven Foot" song assigning students to underline figurative language. The song contains expletive lyrics.  Rapper Lil Wayne was disappointed that the teacher would allow students to read his lyrics for homework. He tells ESPN that his music is not meant for younger children. He tells how he doesn't record his songs with kids in mind.

Let It Snow!

Something amazing happen over the past week, it was something unbelievable. It snowed! I know some of you, who are used to seeing the dreaded snow, are rolling your eyes, but when you live in the South a snow day doesn't happen often. I was so filled with excitement seeing the snow fall from my window because I haven't seen snow since junior high school.

To Choose Love or Money?

Every day in Speech class the professor takes the class attendance along with a question of the day. On the second day of class, the question of the day was to choose between finding  love, but never to be rich, or to be rich and never fall in love. Every girl in the class chose love over money, except one older lady. When my name was called I chose money over love. The professor asked why, and I told her I'm used to being alone because I'm the only child. I also said that I can give back to others which would make me feel great.

I'm Back!

Hello everyone I'm finally back to blogging again. Its been a couple of months since I've written my last blog post, and a lot has happen since then. I want to tell you all that I'm now a junior in college, and I'm taking more journalism classes. I'm also interning for the University's radio station, which I'm very excited about. The purpose of the blog is to inform you about the daily life and struggles of my college life. I will keep updating weekly. Make sure you keep coming back to visit http://lovepinkandlaugther.blogspot.com/. I'm bringing the blog back to life because I love blogging, and I love telling my personal stories about college life.  I know you're so exciting to see what I have in store for the upcoming weeks. After each posts, I will end it with a quote of the week because everyone needs a little inspiration.

Here's the quote:

Cheers To The Losers In High School

Now that I'm in college, I sometimes think of the old me. The girl in high school, who was known by name, but not much else. Its been two years since I've graduated, and I sometimes wonder what people at high school thought of me.

Summer Reading: Pretty Little Liars "Twisted"

I'm a huge fan of Pretty Little Liars. I love the show and the books are amazing. I first started reading the books back in high school. I'm so glad I was able to read the ninth book that was released back in 2011. First, many fans were disappointed with the book release of Twisted because many thought that the eight book, Wanted, was a great way to end the "Pretty Little Liars" series. I couldn't agree with them anymore. I've read books 1-8 and thought the series ended good, but part of me wanted the story to continue. I was thrilled when Sara Shepard finally released the ninth book. After reading the book, it was everything I like about the "Pretty Little Liars" series and more. The story was defiantly twisted, as the title suggested. If you've never read a Pretty Little Liar book, you're in luck because this book will not be confusing for new readers. Sara explains events that happened in previous books to help refresh the memory of those who forgotten and those who never read a Pretty Little Liar book. The book starts off with the four girls in Jamaica on a spring break trip. This vacation was a great way for them to put the past behind them. However, the girls did something unforgettable in Jamaica. This trip eventually creates more secrets that will cause another A to haunt them one year later.

My School Year Recap

Originally Seen On thesls.blogspot.com

Finals are over, now it's time to recap some of the highlights of my second year in college. If  I could describe my second year in one word, it would be effort.  I must say that I have put an effort to try different tasks this year. Some of them did not go as plan, but it helped me to accept disappointment and face my fears. A while back I posted a few goals that I hoped to accomplish this year, and some I did attempt to try while other were just left behind.

The Perks Of Being A College Student

College is nothing like the movies. It's  much more complex.  Sometimes the school work can be overwhelming, even if it's easy. There's also less breaks in college than high school, the longest break is the winter break which can last for a month, depending on the University. Then there are friends, I've came across many different types of friends, and I lost some along the way.  Each semester is new, nothing ever stays the same in college.
